The Odontathon 2026 is a ‘hackathon’ for dentistry. It brings together dentists, startups, designers, developers, and industry experts to collaborate over the weekend 13-15 March to build innovative solutions to overcome challenges in modern dentistry.

About the event style
The hackathon-style event focused on dentistry rather than a traditional dental conference or continuing education course. Participants form interdisciplinary teams and work intensively for about 48 hours to develop innovative ideas or prototypes. Thereafter, teams present their concepts in short pitches to a jury, which selects the best ideas.
The goal is to solve real problems in dental practice and healthcare systems, often using digital technologies.

Focus is on major issues in dentistry, such as Digitalization and AI in dentistry; Automation and robotics in clinics; Workforce shortages in dental practices.

The Odontathon 2026 is co-organized by BFS health finance (part of Bertelsmann corporate group) BFS health finance is the company that manages billing and financing for many dental and medical practices in Germany, and it also invests in innovation in healthcare. And HealthCare Futurists: a European innovation network, thinktank and catalyst focused on the future of healthcare — particularly on digital transformation and interdisciplinary problem solving in medicine and health tech.
