Owning the Dream: Dr. Laura Blavier’s Modern Dental Practice

In November 2023, Dr. Laura Blavier opened the doors to her own dental clinic in Boncelles, Belgium, turning a long-held vision into reality. As the sole owner of the practice, she has carefully shaped every detail of her clinic into a modern, efficient, and highly adaptable way of working.

From day one, her focus has been on optimizing both patient experience and clinical workflow. Today, her clinic is equipped with three XO FLOW units, which have become central to how she practices dentistry.

A New Level of Workflow Efficiency

One big advantage of the XO FLOW unit, explains Dr. Blavier, is the ability to use the touchscreen via remote desktop directly from her chairside position. This setup eliminates the need to switch between the dental chair and a separate desk, significantly improving both ergonomics and time management.

She has also integrated a reciprocating endodontic module into her workflow, something she particularly values and is already planning to expand further with a surgical module in the near future.

“Choosing XO FLOW was the right decision”, says Dr. Blavier, one that continues to support her daily work and the overall experience in her clinic

Designed for Comfort, For Everyone

As a left-handed practitioner, she highlights the unit’s improved comfort and flexibility. The chair can easily be used by both left- and right-handed dentists, making it practical in a shared clinical setting and helpful when bringing new clinicians into the practice.

Dr. Blavier works both solo and with a dental assistant, depending on the treatment. Assistants are actively involved, and each practitioner can configure the unit to their preferences. The clinic also uses remote desktop integration for the intraoral scanner, supporting a smooth and connected workflow. But please be sure to have a stable Wi-Fi network in your clinic, she says. This is not just related to the dental unit but is an essential part of running a digital dental practice.

Customization and Patient Comfort

For Dr. Blavier, one of the most valuable features of XO FLOW is its high degree of customization. Every detail can be adjusted to suit the clinician’s workflow, creating a highly personalized working environment.

Asked about her personal favorite feature of the XO FLOW, she again mentions the high level of customization, but also the fact that patients frequently notice and appreciate the comfort of the chair.
