Meet CEO Daniel Petcu: A Dentist Shaping the Digital Future of Dentistry

What does the future of digital dentistry look like when you put it into practice today?

Daniel Petcu is giving us an interesting glimpse.

Based in Korntal near Stuttgart, Germany, Daniel Petcu is the dentist behind DEIN ZAHNTEAM, a modern dental practice that combines general dentistry with implantology, periodontology, prosthetics, and aesthetic dentistry.

Digital technology already plays an important role in the practice. And in April 2026, he took another significant step by bringing his two existing Korntal locations together in a new, fully digitalised dental clinic.

But his interest in the development of dentistry reaches beyond his own treatment rooms. He is also behind Dentale Themenwelt, an initiative bringing dental professionals together around education, technology and new developments within dentistry.

Together, the two sides of his work make him an interesting voice in the continuing development of digital dentistry.

A new practice built for digital dentistry

On 20 April 2026, DEIN ZAHNTEAM welcomed patients to its new premises at Johannes-Daur-Straße 23 in Korntal.

The new clinic brings the two previous Korntal locations together under one roof, with five treatment rooms, two prophylaxis rooms and a dedicated consultation lounge.

Most interestingly, DEIN ZAHNTEAM describes one of the defining characteristics of the new practice as complete digitalisation.

Digital technologies used within the practice include 3D DVT imaging, digital X-ray analysis and intraoral cameras. In early 2026, DEIN ZAHNTEAM also introduced the production of selected dental restorations using 3D printing.

Nearby, the practice’s own WHITE ROOMS master dental laboratory adds another connection between clinical dentistry and dental technology.

What was your vision for the new practice, and what role did digital dentistry play in planning it?

“Our vision was never simply to build a new dental clinic. We wanted to create a place where technology, efficient workflows and highly personal dentistry come together naturally. For me, digitalisation is not an end in itself. It should help us work more precisely, reduce complexity for the team and at the same time create a better and more comfortable experience for our patients.” says Daniel Petcu.

Bringing the dental unit into the digital workflow – How XO FLOW forms part of this digital environment

Designed as a fully digital dental unit, XO FLOW combines the treatment unit with a built-in computer, network connectivity and a digital user interface. Digital devices such as intraoral scanners can be integrated, while software and digital workflows can be accessed directly from the treatment unit.

This means that the dental unit itself can become part of the digital ecosystem of the practice rather than operating as an isolated piece of equipment.

For Daniel Petcu, who is already an enthusiastic XO FLOW user, it is a natural fit with a practice where digital technology plays such a prominent role.

But we’d much rather let him explain that himself so we asked Daniel Petcu:

Why did you choose XO FLOW, and what do you particularly value about working with it?

“I chose XO FLOW because I no longer see the dental unit as an isolated piece of equipment. It should be part of the entire digital workflow of the practice. What I particularly value is the combination of ergonomics, technology and integration.

Ultimately, technology should make dentistry simpler, more predictable and allow us to focus even more on the patient.”

Sharing knowledge beyond the dental practice

Daniel Petcu is not only putting new technologies into practice in his own clinic. He is also creating opportunities for other dental professionals to explore them, exchange experiences and learn from one another.

Through Denspro Academy, where Daniel Petcu is Managing Director, he is behind Dentale Themenwelt, a platform for events and continuing education for dental professionals.

In June 2026, Dentale Themenwelt brought the dental community together at Look21 in Stuttgart for two days of learning, discussion and professional exchange. The programme included a congress dedicated to artificial intelligence in dental practice, as well as a masterclass and opportunities to experience new dental technologies.

XO CARE participated with XO FLOW giving participants the opportunity to experience the digital dental unit first-hand and explore its possibilities for integrating digital devices and workflows.

Looking ahead

What stands out about Daniel Petcu is the combination of clinical practice and knowledge sharing.

At DEIN ZAHNTEAM, he is putting digital technologies to work in a newly opened practice. Through Dentale Themenwelt, he is creating opportunities for other dental professionals to experience new developments, exchange knowledge and consider what they could mean for their own practices.

For dentists curious about where digital dentistry is heading, Daniel Petcu and his work are well worth following.

We look forward to seeing what comes next, and we are very proud that XO FLOW is part of his journey.
