Dentist Dr. Peter Kapeller and his colleague, Dr. Nikola Dibold, unite the disciplines of implantology, periodontology and aesthetic dental restorations with the help of CAD / CAM technology in their joint Bregenz practice, Implantart. To look after their health, the dentists rely on the ergonomic treatment concept of XO CARE.
Upon entering the rooms of the dental practice in the Bregenz health center, the patient is greeted with a bright and friendly atmosphere not necessarily associated with a visit to the dentist. “Like most people, I spend most of my life at my workplace. With the move to the new premises in May this year, I was able to realize many ideas in my practice, so that not only my colleague and I feel good, but also our patients,” Dr. Kapeller cheerfully tells us.
In particular, the practice space, almost three times the size of Dr. Kapeller’s previous clinic, offers the opportunity for generous design and greater comfort in the waiting area and treatment rooms. Architecturally, it has a clearly structured and harmonious appearance, with a glass wall separating the office spaces and treatment areas. The rooms are flooded with light, and the old oak beams form a contrast to the modern design, providing a feel-good atmosphere for the patient.
CONVINCING ERGONOMIC TREATMENT CONCEPT
As well as design, functionality and serviceability are at the center of dental practice planning. “I’m a fan of swinging arm systems. XO has a lot of experience in this field and simply offers the best system,” Dr. Kapeller says in justifying his choice of units from the Danish manufacturer. The instrument suspensions are very well balanced so that even with side movements there is no pulling on the hoses. The sense of touch at work is also optimally supported.
The high-quality materials of the units have also convinced the dentist: “Most treatment units are made of plastic, whereas the XO units are made of aluminum, conveying higher value,” he says. “We want to offer our patients dental care at the highest level and therefore we unite several fields of specialization in our practice,” Dr. Kapeller says of his philosophy. For example, a healthy periodontium is required for a long-term successful implantation. “Since we also offer periodontal treatment, the patients receive the treatment from a single source and do not need to change practice. The patients appreciate that very much,” Dr. Kapeller says. The move to the new practice rooms allows the dentist to expand his treatment spectrum. “In the future, I would like to focus on prophylaxis even further, because it forms the basis of dentistry and is therefore the prerequisite for periodontology and implantology,” he adds.
The secret of his successful practice is in his opinion also due to a service-oriented approach to the patient. This is why patients are given cooling pads to take home after an operation and receive a call from the dentists on the following day to inquire after their condition. Patients also appreciate the warm cloth they receive after prophylaxis and the annual Christmas card. “I think these small but useful extras make the treatment more pleasant and help our patients feel well cared for, so they would like to recommend us,” the dentist says.
