From Dream to Digital Reality: Inside a Modern XO FLOW Clinic in Sweden

What does it take to build a modern dental clinic from the ground?

For dentist and clinic owner Rade Zlojutro, it has been a long journey shaped by determination, curiosity and a clear idea of how he wanted to practice dentistry.

After moving from Bosnia to Sweden in 2012, he had to pause his career to learn the language and requalify to practice in his new country of residence. It was a demanding process, but regardless, he gained valuable experience along the way by working in different clinics and learning how dentistry is practiced in Sweden.

It was during this period that the idea of building something of his own began to take shape. A clinic where every detail reflects Dr. Rade’s preferred way of working

Designing a clinic around the way you want to work

Creating a clinic from scratch is a rare opportunity. It allows you to take everything you have learned and turn it into a physical space.

“Having worked in different clinics gave me a lot of experience. I took the best parts from each of them and used them when planning my own,” Dr. Rade explains.

The result is a clinic built around three clear priorities:

  • Efficient workflows
  • Good ergonomics
  • A calm and comfortable experience for patients

Every decision supports these principles. From the layout of the treatment rooms to the choice of equipment, the clinic is designed to make daily work processes feel natural and structured.

Why XO FLOW became part of the solution

Dr. Rade’s interest in technology has been present for many years. Visiting international dental exhibitions and following developments in the field has helped him understand where dentistry is heading.

“I could see that everything was moving in a more digital direction. That influenced how I wanted to build my own clinic one day,” he explains.

So, for Dr. Rade, the choice was simple; it had to be the digital unit XO FLOW.

Today, at the center of the clinic is the XO FLOW dental unit. “This unit enables me to stay focused, adapt to different treatments and build a workflow that feels intuitive”, he says.

Ergonomics as a foundation

A strong focus on ergonomics runs throughout the clinic.

Dentistry is physically demanding work, and over time, poor working positions can take a toll. When building his own dream clinic in the city of Helsingborg, this was something Dr. Rade wanted to address from the beginning.

The treatment rooms are designed to support natural movement and ergonomically correct working positions, thereby striving to reduce strain and improve efficiency.

“There is no doubt that this makes a difference throughout the day”, says the doctor. “Not only in terms of comfort, but also in maintaining focus and precision during treatments.”

Making better use of space

Another important aspect of the clinic design is how space is used.

With a well-planned layout and carefully selected equipment, each treatment room is designed to be ‘lean’ and efficient with only necessary additional tools and devices; “By overcrowding the treatment room the dental team may feel constrained. While applying a more lean approach the team can maintain a high level of efficiency, while keeping a calm and uncluttered environment for both patients and staff.”

A clinic that reflects its owner

Stepping into the clinic, it becomes clear that it is shaped by one person’s vision. Every choice has been made with intention. Not to impress, but to support a way of working that feels right.

There is a sense of balance. Between technology and simplicity. Between efficiency and comfort. Between ambition and practicality.

Inspiration for others

Every clinic is different. Every dentist has their own path.

Dr. Rade’s clinic is a reminder: Building something of your own takes time, effort and a clear vision. It also shows what is possible when you stay open to new ideas while remaining true to your way of working.

“In the end, it is not about the equipment alone. It is about creating a place where you can do your best work, every day”, Dr. Rade concludes smilingly.
