Exceptional architecture and award-winning design meet with excellent dentistry at the new KU64 dental practice in Berlin-Mitte. The interior has velvety golden colors, elegant shapes and lush environments, creating a boutique hotel atmosphere for patients and practitioners to enjoy.
A cozy and homey interior
Patients are met by relaxing lounge music instead of buzzing drilling noises. The air is filled with the scent of freshly brewed coffee instead of medical odors. And there is a homey and cozy interior instead of sparse white treatment rooms.
“Every one of my clinics has a fireplace. This one here is the bigger one,” says founder and clinic owner Dr. Ziegler smilingly.
The intention is to create a modern dental practice where practitioners can work efficiently while providing patients with a feel-good atmosphere and pleasant treatments without long waiting times.
A 400 sqm luxurious dental clinic
The 400-square-meter Berlin-Mitte clinic is KU64’s third dental practice. As at the other clinics, the team hasn’t compromised on design, architecture or equipment.
They decided that the right dental units for their clinic had to be from XO CARE, so they fitted the main treatment rooms with five XO FLOW units and four XO FLEX units for prophylactic or minor treatments. The elegant design of the XO FLOW and XO FLEX supports the luxurious atmosphere at KU64, and the award-winning XO FLOW adds a digital workflow to the clinic. This way, treatments are simplified for the dentists while the patients experience extraordinary comfort while seated in the XO units.
“For the new clinic, I was not in doubt. We wanted the new XO FLOW, and I really like the concept,” says Dr. Ziegler

Giving patients an exceptional experience
Customer value is at the heart of the KU64 offering. Not only in terms of high proficiency but also in the sense of adding social and even psychological value. “We want our clients to feel absolutely at home: relaxed and even happy”, explains Andrew Janish, founding partner of KU64.

The first KU64 dental clinic set the design standard high
The first KU64 clinic is located at Kurfürstendamm 64, a central Berlin address at the city’s most famous shopping boulevard. The clinic opened in the summer of 2005 on the upper two floors of a vacated, historic building, and they simply called it KU64 – Die Zahnspezialisten (The Dental Specialists).
Dr. Stephan Ziegler had the vision of uniting dental specialists under one roof. He reached out to creative minds of the architects’ office GRAFT, known and rewarded for remarkable architectural projects with a design concept mixing architecture, urban planning, exhibition design, music and the ‘pursuit of happiness’.
A new type of dental practice design
Dr. Ziegler had exactly that special GRAFT style in mind for his dental practice. He wanted to create a completely new type of dental practice where design and functionality would come together in an entirely new way.
As a result, patients visiting the dental clinic KU64 are met by an outstanding spatial design that looks more like a wellness environment than dental treatment rooms. The idea of the ‘dentist on the beach’, summer, sun, sand, water and waves and a view into the distance has been fully realized. Such an atmosphere can hardly be found in any other dental practice, but the team has brought this special sensation into their newest addition to the series of KU64 clinics, the Berlin-Mitte dental clinic as well.
